Hutton-le-Hole has a large number of listed heritage buildings and features, many dating from the 18th century. In addition to these, the Ryedale Folk Museum has several historic buildings which have been rebuilt in Hutton-le-Hole after being rescued from elsewhere.

A/B Walk Leader: Tony Culverhouse Distance: 7.5 miles, moderate
We leave Hutton-le-Hole and start to climb steadily, at one point along a sunken path. After passing Grange Farm, we take a lane into the hamlet of Spaunton. We take another sunken path, descending to the village of Lastingham and St. Mary's Church. We have now begun to head north onto moorland along Lastingham Ridge for a couple of miles before diverting south-west across Spaunton Moor. Our southern journey takes us past Spaunton Knowl and on to Mary Magdalene Well. We then take a lane west before leaving it along a footpath back to Hutton-le-Hole.
Total ascent: 1000 feet
C/D Walk Leader: Frank Mason Distance: 6 miles, moderate with shorter options available
From the coach park, we head south through the village, curving around the bottom of Austin Head. We then walk south along Bottomfield Lane, east along Lingmoor Lane, and north along Spauntons Lane before reaching the hamlet of Spaunton. We continue to the village of Lastingham before heading west to Mary Magdalene Well. From here, we head for Bainwood Head and continue back into Hutton-le-Hole.
