Details of the Walks available on the Day will appear below
A/B Walk
Leader Tony Culverhouse Walking Distance 9 miles Moderate
We set off from the centre of Frodsham and head through the town to follow the River weaver south-east. There is a very muddy section early on in the walk, so we will need to be very steady footed. The route then leaves the river, heading south to Belleaire Farm and onto Peel Hall. We then head in a southerly direction along the Eddis Bury Way, before heading off to the north and into Snidley Moor Wood. We follow the Sandstone Trail north through woodland to the highlight of the walk- the fabulous viewpoint at the War Memorial. To finish the walk we descend back into Frodsham.
A very wet and muddy section early in the ramble- some sections of steps to climb into the woodland and quite a lot of road walking, mostly along country lanes.
C/D Walk
Leader: Graham Wrigglesworth Walking Distance: 8 miles with 3-mile option available - both moderate
We alight at Frodsham Bridge to follow the river for about a mile. We then join the North Cheshire Way past Belleair Farm, before leaving NCW to take the road turning right at the sewage works to Hatley Farm and on to Fivecrosses. We then follow a wooded path past Crow Mere, then onto Shepherds Houses, turning right towards Woodhouse Hill and onto the Sandstone Trail into Frodsham centre.
Approximately 1000 ft of ascent - no steep climbs
Approximately 10 trestle/plank stiles
Some overgrown paths
Sandstone Trail uneven in parts with some steps up/down
D walk option: walk on the riverside to the North Cheshire Way and then return back on the river to Frodsham Bridge. Follow the main road back into Frodsham - good pavements all the way. Approx 3 miles
