Our next day out is to Pateley Bridge in Yorkshire on 6th September!

We book coaches to seat the expected number of travellers, and we cannot change the coach at the last minute!

A/B Walk Leader: Michael Brooker-Carey Distance: 8 - 9 miles, moderate
After leaving the coach at Low Laithe, we will have some road walking to the quaint hamlet of Smelthouses. We will then proceed to the impressive Brimham Rocks - an amazing collection of natural rock formations managed by the National Trust. Continuing on across Brimham Moor, we drop down to the Nidderdale Way with a short climb to find extensive views across the Nidderdale National Landscape.
We then continue on to Knox Hall, before heading on to the ruins of St. Mary's Church. Finally, we head down to Pateley Bridge town centre.
Several stiles and some hill climbing. Good views with the Rocks and moors. Around 900 feet ascent.
C/D Walk Leader: Jane Cordingley Distance: 6 miles moderate
The Panorama Walk - This walk, though steep at first through the town, provides access to the best viewpoints over Guisecliff Woods, Nought Moor and Yorkes Folly amongst others. The famous Panorama Walk, which is one of the oldest recreational footpaths in the region, was part of a medieval packhorse route linking Nidderdale with Fountains Abbey and Ripon. From the Panorama Walk we can explore the ruins of St Mary's Church high above the town. Then, following the lunch stop at White Houses, we descend through fields and long tracks to join the River Nidd for a leisurely stroll back to Pateley Bridge alongside the dismantled railway. And only 1 stile!
